Jan. 29 Lunar New Year, S*an D. Henry-Smith, 2021, 20:00

‘There’s knowledge within the frame only I am privy to. Do I tell you my secrets?’ Lunar New Year narrates a series of mostly-analogue portraits made by the artist on a single day in New York City. In Henry-Smith’s audio description, the eye is located in the solar plexus and the camera is a conductor, facilitating the flow of relationships. Narration, image description, poetry, title cards and captions move among the images, in devotion to an expanded sensorium and a cinema of the everyday.
